We’re so excited to announce the latest updates to The Safety Sleeper® models! Since 2010, The Safety Sleeper® team has worked to increase safety and improve sleep for special needs children and their families.
Countless hours of research and tinkering went into the first model of The Safety Sleeper®, and we’ve continued that tireless mission of constant improvement over the years.
That’s why we’re especially proud of these latest model enhancements—enhancements that pay close attention to the 300 Twin Safety Sleeper and the 400 Twin Safety Sleeper. We’ve recently heard from families who were receiving denials while seeking insurance coverage for certain commonly requested add-ons—so now we’re including these as standard features so they’re always covered by insurance!
Many of the changes will be unnoticeable; we’ve shifted some of our sewing techniques to increase strength and durability without any noticeable visual shifts. But we’re excited for people to experience this slightly enhanced version of The Safety Sleeper®.

Focused Improvements & Consistency
The overall design of The Safety Sleeper® has received significant enhancements across all models:
- End-of-bed entry with removable vinyl and mesh panel. This is the one we’re most excited about! The vinyl panel has grown in popularity among families that use video monitoring, as the mesh can be difficult for a camera to see through. We’ve now made the entryway standard for the 300 and 400 models (and you’ll receive both a vinyl option and a mesh option), and the 200 will make the entryway optional (with a choice between vinyl or mesh)!
- All models will be 44” tall. Previously, the Twin and Full models were the same height, and then TW XL and Queen were the same height. With this switch, families will get the same convenient clearance across all models!
- Headroom inside The Safety Sleeper® moves to 36” for all models. This consistency offers plenty of room for sitting up, and it will also give a sense of continuity and familiarity if a child ever grows out of one model and into another.
- Access points reduced to one on each side. We’ve received repeated feedback from families that they only needed one access point on each side of The Safety Sleeper®. Removing the extra access point cleans up the design, increases durability, and gives kids a tiny bit more security inside the bed!
- Improved waterproofing. We now include waterproof padding on the coverlets of the 300 and 400 models!
200 Twin Safety Sleeper: Our Customizable Option
The 200 Twin Safety Sleeper is our “Build Your Own” model, as it’s the one model where families can customize as much as they need. Parents can hand-pick features from the 300 and 400 models and apply them here!
Since we only offer customization options on the 200 Model, we can quickly develop new stock for our 300 and 400, which will allow for a quicker shipping time for our families! It’s a true win-win.
